The coming of age

For me personally I feel your early and mid teens is always the most straining. You go through so many emotions, changes and adaptations. You leave primary school and now you are in a totally different league. It is all new to you and can be overwhelming at times. You make new friends, learn new things, and see a totally different side of what you knew or thought you knew. However during this time there is also something known as peer pressure, and if you do not know how to handle it, it will swallow you whole leading you into dangerous and seriously contradicting situations. When you are in this stage of you life, I know that it might not always be so easy to say no, because you wanna be in what some would call the "in crowd". Honestly speaking though being safe is much better than being sorry. So what if people think that you are a bore or no fun, that is their opinion but you know deep inside who you are and you don't ever need to show off or prove that to anyone. If you are the type that prefers reading a few novels a day for fun instead of going out to parties then that is totally cool. If you would rather have a cold glass of Coke instead of beer then that is cool too. You should never change who you are just for the sake of fitting in, because trust me those "friends" that will want you to do all those things won't be there when you are down and out. Its much better to stay true to who you are instead of following the crowd.
